Union Square is located in Downtown San Diego’s East Village. The community is on one of only eight super blocks in Downtown. A super block just means that it is 2x the size of a normal block.  Union Square has an onsite gym for it’s residents, as well as a spa, sauna, BBQ’s and lounge. The community lounge features a pool table, kitchen and TV. The property is very well maintained and landscaped.

Why is this a great option?

This is the most affordable 2 bedroom in all of downtown, but it isn’t necessarily the least desirable. The floor plan has a very functional layout and at the current list price of $449,000 it is priced at only $410/sf. The master bedroom is a good size and also has access to a balcony. The kitchen has stainless steel appliances and upgraded tile flooring. Overall, for the price, it would be difficult to find something better, but that isn’t why I picked this property.

This location is rapidly changing. There are so many new great additions to the neighborhood and it seems like something new is announced every month. Recently, Punch Bowl Social opened up just a couple of blocks away. UCSD’s extension has also been moving along quickly and will be located about 5 blocks from Union Square. Broadstone apartments, which are known as a luxury apartment brand that typically get push top of the market rents, are nearing completion and should be ready in the next couple of months.  The I.D.E.A. district is quickly shaping into another awesome neighborhood in Downtown. Union Square was before it’s time, as it was always somewhat isolated. It will soon be in the middle of one some of Downtown’s newest hot-spots.
