2020 Quarter 1 – Downtown San Diego Housing Market

The market stats have not yet reflected the impact of COVID-19 in Downtown San Diego’s housing market. We were off to a really strong start in 2020. The number of sales were up +27.33% when compared to Quarter 1 of 2019 and up +24.84% when compared to last quarter. The current number of pending listings suggests that Q2 of 2020 will not have the same activity we saw in Q1.

Going into Quarter 2 of 2019, there were 76 properties in escrow. We are currently at 50 properties currently in escrow going into the second quarter, which is a -34.21% decrease. The effects of COVID-19 on the Downtown San Diego housing market will likely be very apparent once the numbers for Q2 2020 are in.
